Cooking with Rohan!

I love the flavours of the Mediterranean. If you take a look at a few of the great culinary cultures like Greece, Spain and Italy, the common theme is simplicity – but they require fresh, quality ingredients. Luckily, here in sunny Lumeah, we have a Mediterranean-style climate and so I can grow all those classic veggies and herbs. Tomatoes, onions, basil, garlic, potatoes, eggplant, chillies and capsicum … the list goes on.

The part that has taken me a while to grapple with is seasonality. Although I have always been well aware of it, it has taken me a while to stop myself buying out of season produce. By doing it, the food I make is far tastier. Tomato and basil pasta in the summer. Garlic and chilli fried vegetables in the winter. It’s only as monotonous as you make it.
