We have eggs! But we are also minus 1 chook, may she rest in peace. I still don’t know why she died, but I came out one morning and she was looking very inactive, and a few hours later, she passed into the next world, bless ‘er little soul…

I think maybe the other 2 thought we assassinated their comrade because they still weren’t laying any eggs… but either way they’ve turned on their internal biological factories and now I am getting 1 egg every day from 2 chooks. Not bad, I say. It just means I can only have bacon and eggs every second day, which is probably a good thing. It also means that we will have to get more chooks when Trish comes home.
